Hi, my name is Sherri Couto. I am doing my Masters in Social Work (MSW) at University of Windsor. Prior to me doing my MSW, I completed a Bachelors degree of Social Work and a diploma program in Early Childhood Education. In my earlier years, I had the opportunity to study International Business Management in The Netherlands.
The practicum portion of my MSW program involves a placement at Independent Living Centre of Waterloo Region (ILCWR). My role at ILC involves me taking part in groups such as What’s Cookin’ and Let’s Move as well as doing work behind the scenes like looking at options for funding for programs and potential funding sources for consumers.
I have a passion for sharing knowledge that I have learned with others. I had the chance to hear from some consumers about what kind of workshops would be most meaningful to them. I am excited to announce that ILCWR is offering me an opportunity to host three workshops based on the feedback from consumers.
